- Locally owned; daily on-site administration by Will and Betty Battaglia, therapists who reside in Elkton, MD.
- Founded in 2000 to fulfill a need when the lack of affordable senior placements in Cecil County was identified.
- Goal was (and still is) to prevent unnecessary nursing home stays and/or unsafe independent living situations by providing affordable, compassionate, cost-effective community placements for senior citizens
- Caraway has experience in constructing, developing, and operating several local assisted living facilities.
- Current facilities are:
1. Caraway Manor (2375 Oldfield Pt. Road): Newly constructed
2006, 16 bed large rancher home
2. Caraway Manor @ Brownfield: Established 2001; existing
home adapted for assisted living; Able to accommodate
those with limited financial resources
3. Caraway Manor II (Oldfield Pt. Road): Under construction, due to open October 2008, 16 private rooms/baths
4. Two additional facilities planned on Oldfield Point site...
